Job Summary The Human Resource Consultant provides expert guidance and support to organizations on various Human Resource matters, including talent management, compliance, and organizational development. This position emphasizes the assessment of current Human Resource practices, the identification of areas for improvement, and the delivery of customized solutions to meet the unique needs of the institution. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing human resource practices to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement within the organization. Provide expert advice on talent management strategies, including recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning, to enhance organizational effectiveness. Develop customized training and development programs tailored to the specific needs of the institution to foster employee growth and skill enhancement. Facilitate workshops and training sessions for managers and employees on various Human Resource topics, including performance management, leadership development, and employee engagement. Analyze Human Resource metrics and data to provide insights and recommendations that inform strategic decision-making and improve overall human resource functions. Assist in the development and implementation of compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain top talent while aligning with the institution's budget. Serve as a resource for managers and employees by providing guidance on complex Human Resource issues and facilitating effective communication throughout the organization. Prepare detailed reports and presentations that summarize findings, recommendations, and action plans for improving human resource practices and outcomes. Collaborate with leadership to design and implement policies and procedures that ensure compliance with employment laws and industry best practices. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Educational Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Experience Six or more years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Managing and resolving HR-related issues in a higher education environment Demonstrated experience managing and resolving complex research faculty hiring and personnel matters, including compensation-related issues Providing HR guidance and consultation to faculty, staff, managers, and/or unit leadership Working collaboratively with central HR and other organizational partners USG Core Values The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 25 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
