Service and Parts AdvisorOur Service and Parts Advisor's responsibilities include estimating, scheduling, managing, and billing service and repair work including parts for heavy and medium duty vehicles as well as counter parts sales. Additionally this position is responsible for managing and overseeing operational tasks for the leaf spring fabrication department.Pay: Salary, based on experience and qualificationsType: Full-Time, 40hrs per weekShift: Weekday, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pmLocation: In personAbout UsTruck Service, Inc provides medium and heavy-duty vehicle repair, service, and parts for all makes and models with multiple locations in Indiana, Ohio, and Florida. We pride ourselves in customer service and being experts especially in heavy-duty suspension, brakes, and steering systems. Our customers include owner-operators, fleets, refuse, schools, construction, emergency services, government agencies, and more with vehicles such as Class 3-8 trucks (semi's, fire trucks, dump trucks, box trucks, refuse trucks, etc), buses, recreational vehicles (RVs), trailers, and pick-up trucks. Additionally, our Blacks Spring branch has a leaf spring manufacturing department with the capability of manufacturing leaf springs for OEM vehicle and equipment manufacturers as well as individual specialty and replacement leaf springs for trucks, custom vehicles, classic cars, tractors, mine equipment, trolleys, rail cars, and other specialty applications.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport a safety-first culture, SAFETY IS NO ACCIDENTPositively, professionally, and effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, team members, and managementAnswer phone calls, assist callers, direct calls, and take messagesGreet customers in showroom and assist or direct as appropriatePerform thorough vehicle intake by gathering all necessary customer, vehicle, and requested service informationCreate detailed repair orders and estimatesProactive and regular communication throughout jobs with customer, technicians, and General and/or Service ManagerAssist General Manager and/or Service Manager with assigning repair orders to techniciansWork with General Manager, Service Manager, and/or other Service Advisors to manage the schedule and job board to ensure workflow to meet customer expectationsIdentify, source, and manage parts for repair workEnsure quality control inspections are completed and signed-off on every vehicleEnsure all parts and labor billing are complete, accurate, and timelyProcess payments including charge account, credit card, cash, and checkCustomer follow-up to confirm complete customer satisfaction, retorque reminders, and/or discuss deferred repairsProcess and manage leaf spring fabrication department customer orders including purchase order acknowledgement, order creation, invoicing, shipping arrangements, and customer portal management.Process and manage leaf spring fabrication department work orders including creation, scheduling, status update, and close.Process and manage leaf spring fabrication department raw material inventory, purchase orders, and receiving.Assist customers by phone, email, or in person with parts needs including answering questions, identifying, quotes, verifying inventory availability, ordering from suppliers, invoicing, processing payments, returns, and warrantiesAssist with inventory management such as creating accurate purchase orders, receiving, inter-branch orders, cycle counts, etcAssist with merchandising and stocking the showroomBasic housekeeping of showroom and counter areasBecome proficient with the shop management software and PC skills (email, documents, internet navigations) as it relates the to the duties and responsibilitiesMaintain a clean and organized work areaQualificationsAutomotive and/or heavy truck customer service experience, 2 years preferredStrong PC skills for email, documents, and internet navigationExperience with Google Workspace tools (email, calendar, sheets, docs, etc) preferred but not requiredExperience with Karmak Fusion shop management software preferred but not requiredStrong verbal and written communicationCustomer service oriented and a focus on the positive customer experienceEffective time managementASE certifications or willing to obtain (bonus for each obtained)Deadline and detail-orientedValid Driver's License (Required)United States work authorization (Required)GED, High School Degree, or College Degree (NOT REQUIRED)BenefitsHealth InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceEmployer Paid Basic Life InsuranceEmployee Health and Well-Being Assistance Program401k Retirement Plan with Company MatchPaid Time OffCompany Provided Work ShirtsEmployee Discount
