CLE, Direct Support Professional Arc of Greater New Orleans – Chalmette, Louisiana, United States – Customer Service About this position Arc of Greater New Orleans (ArcGNO) is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives. Since 1953, ArcGNO has provided advocacy, education, and support services across Jefferson, Orleans, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, and St. Tammany parishes. Programs include family support coordination, supported living services, employment and job coaching, community integration programs, and transportation services. Our community center located in Chalmette, LA is hiring! Summary Our CLE (Community Life Engagement) service professionals assist participants in becoming part of their local communities and achieving independence by helping with daily activities, finding employment, providing transportation, and advocating for their rights and services. Essential Job Functions Train and supervise assigned participants in work/non-work, community access, and volunteerism. Assist in planning and developing methods and procedures for implementing individual programs. Submit initial and continuous annual assessments of participants’ progress. Hold consistent meetings regarding individuals’ programming and services. Implement and document outcomes and methods per ISP and/or Behavior Management. Complete all service documentation (attendance, interaction, work/non-work activities). Complete scheduled training and continued education. Provide confidential feedback to participants and other appropriate individuals. Advocate for participants as appropriate. Transport participants to designated locations following safety and transportation guidelines. Drive morning or afternoon routes, including picking up participants from their homes or dropping them off. Education/Experience GED or High School Diploma; bachelor’s degree in human services or related discipline preferred. Previous experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities preferred. Valid Louisiana driver’s license and auto insurance. Reliable transportation that passes agency inspection. Skills/Qualifications Excellent time and priority management. Ability to collaborate with participants, their families, and colleagues. Experience with Microsoft Office, including Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, etc. Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
