Pay Range: Targeted Salary $55,000 annually, based on experience Benefits Eligible: Yes Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Travel: Not required Position Summary Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Office of Advocacy & Education, the Lead Student Program Coordinator of Advocacy & Education supports the mission of the University of Oklahoma by promoting student well‑being, safety, and personal development through prevention education and outreach. This position provides direct supervision and leadership to four Education & Outreach Coordinators who oversee the following topic areas: Alcohol and Other Drug Misuse Prevention Gender-Based Violence Prevention Hazing Prevention Sexual Health and General Wellness The Lead Student Program Coordinator serves as a key liaison between the Office of Advocacy & Education and campus partners across Student Affairs and the broader university community. This includes collaboration with areas such as Fraternity & Sorority Programs and Services, Housing and Residence Life, Student Life, Athletics, and other departments engaged in fostering a healthy and safe campus culture. Duties of this position will Include Supervise, coach, and evaluate four Education & Outreach Coordinators overseeing wellness and prevention topic areas. Provide strategic leadership and ensure alignment of outreach and education initiatives with departmental and university goals. Oversee prevention education programs, trainings, workshops, and campaigns promoting health, safety, and well‑being. Lead assessment and data‑informed planning through key performance indicators and program evaluation. Serve as primary liaison to Student Affairs units such as Fraternity & Sorority Programs, Housing, and Student Life. Build and maintain partnerships with campus and community stakeholders to strengthen prevention efforts. Oversee marketing, communications, and social media strategies for departmental outreach. Support recruitment, training, and supervision of Peer Educators and student staff. Assist the Director with strategic planning, budgeting, and operational management. Participate in after‑hours on‑call rotation for OU Advocates, the University's 24/7 confidential advocacy service. Other skills Knowledge of current prevention strategies, best practices, and wellness needs that are trending nationally and locally. Ability to research and seek information from various sources to make sound and educated decisions. Essential Duties Supervision & Functional Leadership Provide lead supervision, coaching, and performance feedback for four Education & Outreach Coordinators. Coordinate and guide outreach, education, and prevention initiatives to ensure alignment with the mission of the Office of Advocacy and Education (OAE) and university strategic priorities (Lead ON). Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of trainings, workshops, campaigns, and outreach events focused on prevention education and awareness. Support staff in developing and assessing student learning outcomes for trainings, workshops, and peer education initiatives. Ensure consistency, quality, accessibility, and relevance across educational programs, curricula, and materials. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high‑functioning team environment that supports prevention best practices and professional development. Program Coordination & Assessment Coordinate prevention education efforts across OAE topic areas to support a cohesive and evidence‑informed approach. Lead program assessment activities, including tracking key metrics, coordinating data collection, and supporting evaluation of program outcomes and effectiveness. Support Education & Outreach Coordinators in implementing social norms campaigns and cross‑campus initiatives that promote healthy behaviors and attitudes. Coordinate outreach and communication efforts, including print and digital materials, website content, and social media, to ensure clear and consistent messaging. Oversee the recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision of Peer Educators to ensure effective delivery of peer‑led programs. Collaboration & Liaison Responsibilities Serve as a primary point of contact for Student Affairs partners, including Fraternity & Sorority Programs and Services, Housing & Residence Life, Student Life, and Athletics, to support coordinated prevention education efforts. Develop and maintain working relationships with campus and community partners to enhance prevention education and outreach. Represent OAE on committees, task forces, and working groups related to prevention, advocacy, and student well‑being. Coordinate with external agencies and organizations to support campus prevention initiatives and remain informed of emerging best practices. Training & Outreach Facilitate and support prevention education programs, presentations, and trainings for students, faculty, and staff as assigned. Assist with the development of educational materials and outreach campaigns grounded in current research and inclusive practices. Support staff presence and engagement at major campus events and institutional initiatives. Administrative & Operational Support Support the Director with program planning, budgeting processes, and resource coordination for prevention education and outreach efforts. Assist with monitoring compliance with institutional policies, applicable regulations, and professional standards related to prevention and advocacy. Participate in the after‑hours on‑call rotation supporting OU Advocates, the University's 24/7 confidential advocacy service. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in related field. 36 months in student programming, student services or closely related experience. Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree for a total of 84 months experience. Department Preferences Master's degree in Higher Education, Public Health, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field. Experience working with fraternity/sorority life, residence life, or athletics populations. Experience with program assessment, data analysis, and evidence‑informed program planning.
