Job Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse with specialized experience in the neurology unit. The position involves working night shifts in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, providing essential care to patients with neurological conditions.

Position Details

Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
Orientation: Reduced Non-Billable Orientation - 0 Hours NBO
Floating Required: Yes, between units
On-Call Required: No
Weekend Requirement: Yes, every other weekend
Patient Ratios: 1:5

Job Requirements

Minimum of 6 months of experience working in a neurology unit.
Proficiency in the NIH stroke scale and care for various neurological diagnoses.
ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatory.
Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, and telemetry is preferred.
Previous charge nurse experience is a plus.

Working Conditions

The hospital supports a collaborative environment with interdisciplinary teams and interpreters available for patient care. As a designated stroke unit, the team is involved in crucial procedures and emergency interventions. The average daily census for the unit is 48 patients with an emphasis on high-quality neurological care.

Additional Information

Must commit to working 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
Two references required covering one year of experience within the last three years.
Travelers may be expected to float to nearby sister facilities as necessary.
