Emergency Services Technician Location: Gaffney, South Carolina, United States Organization: Cherokee Medical Center Shift: Full-Time 0700‑1900, weekends as needed Job ID: P-105902 Job Description Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, the Emergency Services Technician provides emotional and physical comfort and safety to patients, observes, records, and reports changes in patient condition, performs therapeutic procedures and treatments per the medical center’s policies, and maintains a safe unit environment by restocking supplies and ensuring equipment operation. The technician collaborates with leadership to develop and implement the center’s culture, mission, and goals. Core Responsibilities Recognize and report changes in patients’ clinical condition to nursing staff and/or MD. Perform and document procedures such as vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, and labeling. Assist physicians and nurses in examinations, treatments, and minor surgical procedures. Assist patients with turning, bathing, positioning, and ambulation. Attend all mandatory education programs offered by the hospital and/or department annually. Complete daily assignments, including storage of utilities, trays, carts, and supplies. Follow Emergency Department procedures related to use, processing, and replacement of special equipment, trays, and supplies. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Graduate or equivalent. EMT, CNA, PCA, Surgical Technician, Medical Assistant, completion of a fundamental nursing course, or one year of experience in a healthcare setting. Current license/registration/certifications as required (e.g., BLS). Preferred Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle fast‑paced emergency situations.
