PT Registered Nursing Tutor

Overview RN tutors will work with students in both the ASN and PN programs for a three‑year engagement, supporting nursing coursework and improving NCLEX‑RN and NCLEX‑PN pass rates. The role requires sensitivity to diverse academic, socio‑economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds. Responsibilities Provide individual and group tutoring for PN and ASN students and graduates, including NCLEX preparation. Conduct tutoring sessions through walk‑in or scheduled appointments, either in person or virtual. Create a professional and welcoming environment by modeling respect for students’ diverse cultures, language skills, abilities, and experiences. Deliver subject‑specific content, clarify course material, and use listening and questioning strategies to diagnose student needs and monitor progress. Recognize and adapt to different learning styles and preferences, and support students in developing effective research and study strategies. Use feedback and reflection to continually improve tutoring practice. Maintain and submit weekly reports of services provided. Report student progress information to the Nursing Dean or designee. Compensation $17–20 per hour. Qualifications Associate degree in Nursing. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Demonstrated sensitivity to under‑resourced and disadvantaged populations. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with diverse populations. Commitment to working Monday‑Friday, 9AM‑6PM during campus hours. Official academic transcripts submitted at time of hire.
