Position: Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Tele) $$SN$$
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Shift: Nights – 3x12s (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), every other weekend
Duration: 13 weeks

Job Duties

• Provide safe, effective, patient- and family-centered nursing care to acute care patients.

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments based on patient condition and hospital policies.

• Develop, prioritize, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.

• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.

• Read and monitor telemetry and recognize changes in patient condition.

• Provide patient and family education throughout the hospital stay and at discharge.

• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital policies.

• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.

• Delegate tasks appropriately to licensed and non-licensed staff while promoting teamwork.

• Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

• Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN)

• BLS certification required

• NIHSS certification required

• Minimum 2 years of inpatient acute care RN experience

• Epic experience required

• Strong acute care nursing skills

• Telemetry experience required

• Schedule includes every other weekend

• No 48-hour requirement

Unit Details:

• 4E – Post Acute Neuro

• 30-bed unit

• Approximately 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio

• Epic EMR

• RN reads telemetry; no titration

• Patient population includes neurological and oncology diagnoses

• Medications may include blood pressure medications, heparin, pain medications, and chemotherapy for certified staff

• Equipment includes IV pumps, PCA pumps, Dynamaps, and feeding pumps
