Medical Laboratory Scientist - Day Shift

Position: Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician Location: ChristianaCare Laboratory, Cecil campus, Elkton, MD Work hours: Monday - Friday (11:00am - 7:30pm). Every other weekend and rotating holidays per year required. Responsibilities Accurately perform all test procedures as listed in the procedure manual. Perform and record all scheduled instrument preventative maintenance procedures. Follow established quality control procedures, documenting corrective action if necessary. Adhere to all turnaround times, document calls as necessary, verify critical values and specimen identification. Verify completion of all stat results and all routine results in a timely manner. Record workload and other statistics into the computer system as necessary. Perform assigned work safely adhering to established department safety rules and practices. Perform other related duties as instructed. Requirements BS in Medical Technology or in a chemical, physical, or biological science. Associate degree in medical laboratory technology. Associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science. Completed an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician). ASCP (MLT) certification preferred. Hourly Pay Range: $29.22 - $43.83. This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
