Details 16-bed CVICU located in the Tower building Patient ratios of 1:2, with 1:1 for certain device patients Free-floating charge nurse available to assist staff Unit secretary and administrative care tech coverage M-F 0730-1530 Student nurse externs assist with tech duties on variable shifts Uses Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps Documentation completed in Meditech Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM 13-week assignment length Required to work 2 weekends per month Floating to other ICUs or other units as needed per policy Requirements Active RN license (TN or compact) required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of critical care experience including CVICU experience required Skills with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring required Experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT preferred US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted) One professional reference required No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months Additional Information Provide care for immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including those with ECMO, Centrimag, and HM3 LVAD devices Perform procedures on the unit such as central line insertion, swan insertion, and intubation Intensivist assigned to the unit 24/7 Holiday coverage required for 1 summer holiday and 2 winter holidays Dress code requires black, red, or galaxy blue scrubs with jackets or vests only Unit is an HCA Unit of Distinction Award winner and Daisy Award recipient 5 full-time surgeons perform high-volume, advanced cardiac surgeries on the unit Strong, collaborative nursing team known for excellent teamwork Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted American Traveler Job ID P-749527.
