Annual equivalent of $82,492 to $102,876 (prorated by FTE).
 
If licensed in Oregon (LCSW, LMFT, LPC) this position would include a $3.00/hr license differential that is equivalent to an additional $6,240 per year (prorated by FTE).

Overview

The Mobile Outreach Therapist is a master’s level mental health professional that works as part of the outreach team. The Therapist provides outreach activities and starts initial services in the community where the client is located or receiving services. This means working with individuals with behavioral health needs that are hesitant or have barriers that prevent them from engaging in treatment. This position works to develop a positive rapport with individuals in need, demonstrating a caring and empathic manner, which assists in building trust and facilitating entry into needed treatment. This position primarily works in the community with Options personnel and collaborates with community partners to outreach and engage clients in need of behavioral health services. Utilizes Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) in delivery of client services. Options provides on the job training and supervision for FIT.

Responsibilities

Initiates services in the community by completing screenings, assessments and service plans, and care coordination activities where the client is at in order to remove as many barriers as possible in accessing services.

Uses collaborative documentation to ensure the client voice is captured as well as ensuring timely documentation is complete.

Develops and maintains a good understanding of community resources and behavioral health treatment programs.

Works independently in the community, representing the agency in a professional manner at all times.

Develops and maintains therapeutic client relationships with close adherence to client-directed services. 

Provides timely accurate documentation – including diagnostic assessment and treatment planning - using appropriate psychosocial terminology that meets or exceeds billing criteria. May act as primary chart manager and must adhere to OARs and standards of care.

Effectively utilizes information technology such as the electronic health record (EHR), email, timekeeping system, management of electronic documents, telehealth and phone system.

Assesses symptoms and manages immediate crisis including danger to self or others, and implements crisis intervention plan if necessary.

Implements treatment planning goals, utilizing program-specific evidence-based practices.

Provides clinical direction to QMHA-level staff (i.e., case managers, skills trainers, 
FFT counselors, mental health associates).

Works collaboratively with community resources to help clients with social development, housing needs, accessing employment and other income resources, and medical coverage. These resources may include - but are not limited to – family, HUD and Social Security. 

Transports clients as appropriate to facilitate client-directed services and regularly travels between sites.

 

Qualifications

This position requires a Master's degree in a behavioral science, an understanding of co-occurring disorders, and related experience.

Experience working with clients with mental health and substance use disorders.

Must register as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor - CADC-R - within 30 days of hire. We provide support in obtaining your CADC credential. CADC I or II preferred. 

Must be a QMHP on the Mental Health & Addictions Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) registry.

OR

Must be registered as a licensure intern with the State of Oregon or be licensed in Oregon as an LMFT, LCSW, LPC or clinical Psychologist.

In order to avoid potential conflict of interest, applicants for this position cannot have received services from Options for Southern Oregon within the last 12 months.

Candidates must be able to use e-mail, compose documents, save and locate documents electronically, and learn to use our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Proficiency in Word and other MS Office applications preferred. 

Must pass state-required background and DMV checks; possess a valid OR driver's license and a satisfactory driving record to be approved for driving rights. Candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.
