Inpatient Psychiatrist Locum Opportunity Jefferson City, MO

We are seeking a Board Certified Psychiatrist for an inpatient locum opportunity in Jefferson City, Missouri . This need primarily consists of 1 2 weekends per month , along with additional PTO coverage, including a specific coverage block from December 28, 2026 through January 8, 2027 .

Assignment Details

• 1 position available
• Ongoing weekend coverage
• Typically 1 weekend per month, with up to 2 weekends per month needed
• Additional PTO coverage needed
• Specific PTO Coverage: December 28, 2026 January 8, 2027

Weekend Schedule

• Friday 5:00 PM Monday 8:00 AM
• Onsite patient visits during daytime hours
• Day and night call coverage

PTO Coverage Schedule

• Unit Coverage: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
• Call Coverage: 5:00 PM 8:00 AM
• All orientation hours billable

Practice Setting

• Inpatient Psychiatry
• Acute Behavioral Health Unit
• Acute Care Hospital
• Adult patients ages 18+
• Epic EMR

Patient Volume

• Average daily census: approximately 16 patients

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient psychiatric evaluations and management
• Manage adult patients on an acute behavioral health unit
• Conduct onsite daytime patient visits during weekend coverage
• Provide overnight and weekend call coverage
• Provide inpatient unit coverage during scheduled PTO periods

• Social Workers

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certification required
• Missouri medical license required
• Physicians willing to obtain a Missouri license will be considered
• 2 3 years of inpatient Psychiatry experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions accepted
