Data Ops Engineer

Xenith Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to develop innovative solutions for the Navy, DoD, and Intelligence communities. This position may be filled as a Senior Data Scientist. Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain real‑time data ingestion pipelines, ensuring reliable streaming data flow, quality, observability, and scalability. Support continuous data feeds to users and monitor the health and quality of data ingestion. Build resilient pipelines with backpressure, prioritization, retries, and error‑handling strategies. Use data manipulation and visualization tools to convey status and historical trends to leadership, users, and the data team. Collaborate with platform, software, and data engineers to reconfigure pipelines for higher reliability. Work with data in Excel, CSV, JSON, and XML formats. Support incident management by documenting, resolving incidents, and performing root‑cause analysis to prevent repetition of data outages. Develop and maintain software to automate monitoring of real‑time feeds and alert for timeliness, volume, lineage, and distribution data issues. Partner with security and governance teams to enforce encryption, authentication, authorization, and data classification. Demonstrate proficiency with scripting languages such as Python and Bash used in data science and analytics. Qualifications U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance. Bachelor of Science required in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Information Systems, or Information Technology. 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data operations, or DevOps roles supporting production data pipelines. Experience with tools and platforms: NiFi, Kafka, Grafana, Prometheus, Apache Flink/Spark Streaming, Snowflake, Elasticsearch, MQTT, and JMS.
