The Second Wind is seeking a compassionate, organized, and creative Recreation and CRPA Program Supervisor to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys planning meaningful programs, activities, trips, art projects, and resident engagement opportunities, while also having the leadership skills to supervise and support a team.

The Recreation and CRPA Program Supervisor will help develop and oversee engaging programs, wellness activities, groups, community outings, and recovery-focused events for residents. This person will also supervise and support Peer Advocates/CRPAs to ensure services are consistent, engaging, well-organized, and aligned with the mission of The Second Wind.

The Second Wind’s CRPA role focuses on supporting individuals navigating recovery, helping clients develop recovery goals, connecting them with resources, collaborating with care teams, advocating for client needs, and maintaining timely documentation. This supervisor role builds on that foundation by helping lead the peer team while strengthening recreation, engagement, and recovery-focused programming.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee recreation and recovery-focused programs, activities, trips, art projects, groups, and resident engagement opportunities.

• Develop relationships with community organizations and recreational venues to expand programming opportunities.

• Supervise and support Peer Advocates/CRPAs in their day-to-day work with residents.

• Help create a positive, recovery-oriented environment that encourages participation, connection, and personal growth.

• Work closely with clinical, administrative, and facility teams to coordinate programming and resident support.

• Provide guidance, encouragement, and accountability to the peer support team.

• Monitor attendance, participation, and engagement in programs and activities.

• Ensure Peer Advocates/CRPAs complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

• Assist with onboarding, training, mentoring, and ongoing support for new peer staff.

• Identify creative ways to increase resident participation in recovery services and activities.

• Help address resident concerns in a professional, supportive, and recovery-centered manner.

• Maintain professional boundaries and ensure staff follow company policies and program expectations.

• Communicate updates, concerns, and program needs to leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience planning recreational activities, programs, trips, art projects, groups, events, or resident engagement initiatives preferred.

• Prior supervisory, team lead, or staff coordination experience strongly preferred.

• Experience or familiarity with recovery, substance use support, resident engagement, recreation, or a related setting preferred.

• Experience working with older adults, mobility-limited populations, or community-based wellness programming preferred.

• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

• Compassionate, patient, and able to motivate both residents and staff.

• Comfortable supporting individuals in recovery and promoting a positive, recovery-oriented environment.

• Ability to follow up on assigned responsibilities and maintain basic documentation.

• Creative, energetic, and able to bring new ideas for programs and activities.

• Basic computer proficiency required, including email communication and electronic documentation.

• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

Preferred Experience

• Supervising peer advocates, activity staff, recreation staff, case aides, outreach staff, or other support staff.

• Planning wellness activities, art programs, group activities, trips, community outings, or resident engagement events.

• Working in an adult care facility, assisted living setting, outpatient program, recovery program, or community-based setting.
