Senior Engineer 1-Technical Support

Job Description Provide high‑level technical support for Microchip Frequency and Time Systems (FTS) products covering military, industrial, financial, space and frequency/time synchronization solutions. Responsibilities Learn the Primary Reference Standard “Atomic Clocks” and help troubleshoot customer issues. Interpret schematics, assembly drawings and manufacturing procedures. Diagnose FTS timing and synchronization systems, identifying faults. Log customer cases in the CRM system. Develop solutions or workarounds and Escalate when customers face critical situations that cannot be resolved in a timely manner. Communicate effectively with customers and with Technical Support Management. Document solutions and update case status in CRM. Engage in presales and post‑sales technical activities for FTS products. Provide front‑line technical and application support to customers and internal sales teams. Deliver technical presentations and training that meet customer needs and highlight scalability of FTS equipment. Requirements / Qualifications BS in Electrical Engineering. 4‑6 years of experience. Basic knowledge of frequency references, protocols and network timing technologies – NTP, PTP, IRIG, GPS, GNSS, network synchronization and test methodologies. Experience in data analysis using proprietary software tools. Effective written and spoken communication and readiness for phone or web‑based conference calls. Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office. Preferred Qualifications Team player. Self‑motivated with strong organization skills. Systematic problem‑solving with attention to detail. Four or more years of technical support or customer service experience. Effective and proactive communication. Physical Attributes Carrying, hearing, other, reaching, talking, works alone. Physical Requirements Sitting 80%, standing 10%, walking 10%. Pay Range $68,640 – $205,000, depending on location, skills and experience.
