Patient Care Technician - Med/Surg (PCT)

Patient Care Technician

As a PCT, you'll be a trusted part of the care team, working alongside nurses and clinical staff to keep patients safe, comfortable, and cared for. Your work will include:

Providing hands-on direct patient care, including bathing, mobility assistance, and comfort measures
Monitoring and documenting vital signs and patient information
Supporting nurses and the care team in delivering high-quality patient-centered care
Offering compassionate emotional support to patients and families
Helping maintain a clean, safe, and respectful care environment
Safely lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

PCTs are the heartbeat of the hospital experience. You'll be the person patients rely on for comfort, communication, and carewhile gaining invaluable experience that can launch a long-term career in healthcare.

On-the-job training to set you up for success
Required PCT classes provided through the care center/unit
Flexible scheduling with day, evening, and night shifts across multiple Deaconess locations

Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification within 6 months of hire
High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of required PCT training classes for the assigned unit
