Western State Hospital is seeking a full time Rehab Assistant to assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of interventions within the psychosocial treatment program and provide open leisure programming available to all patients of Western State Hospital. Key Responsibilities:

• Conducts 18-20 hours of psychosocial rehabilitation interventions per week, according to approved schedules.
• Ensures that interventions are appropriate to individual patient's ages, interests, and abilities as reflected by assessment data
• Accountable for tracking patient attendance in the open leisure program
• Documents and updates incident reports as well as initiates warnings and restrictions as needed in the common's areas
• Assists supervisor and open leisure staff in the planning, organizing, and implementing monthly special event programs and outings for the open leisure program
• Drives van for leisure programming field trips

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record and ability to obtain valid Virginia driver's license with 30 days of start date

Additional Considerations:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Associates degree or higher
• Experience in mental health or related field
• Bilingual
• Veteran or Veteran Spouse
