Prewire Technician

Position Summary The Low Voltage Wiring Technician at Connesso is responsible for prewiring low voltage items, such as network infrastructure and audio/video systems, for low voltage audio and video projects. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of basic construction principles, the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams, and a commitment to safety. The technician will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with office staff, customers, and builder partners to ensure projects are completed on time and as specified. Key Responsibilities Pre-wire: Install low voltage wiring such as cat6, fiber, speaker wire and others for systems, including network infrastructure, and audio/video applications. Follow floor plans, wiring diagrams, and project scopes to ensure accurate installation. Ensure compliance with all relevant basic construction standards and safety regulations. Documentation: Keep detailed records of work performed, including notes, photographs, and communications with office staff and customers. Accurately interpret floor plans, wiring diagrams, and construction guidelines. Communication: Maintain clear communication with office staff, customers, and project stakeholders. Promptly report any issues or concerns to supervisors. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with low voltage systems. Repair or replace faulty components as necessary. Qualifications and Skills Experience: Previous experience in low voltage wiring installation is preferred. Technical Skills: Solid understanding of basic construction principles and safety standards. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and detailed specifications. Proficient in various low voltage systems (network infrastructure, audio/video). Experience using standard electrical tools and equipment. Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects. Comfortable working in confined spaces.
