Seasonal Tax AssociateAs a seasonal Tax Associate at H&R Block, you'll begin a career in tax and client services—no prior tax experience required. With training and support from day one, you'll work directly with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions while building valuable skills and strong client relationships. You'll earn a competitive hourly rate, with opportunities to increase your earnings as you build tax knowledge and grow in the role. This role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office.Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situationPrepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammatesExplain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understandIdentify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and servicesApply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resourcesBuild strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approachRequired Qualifications:Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course 1Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environmentStrong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needsProblem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutionsComfort using digital tools and systems included AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPTHigh school diploma / GED/ equivalentPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related fieldExperience in a client-facing or consultative role, such as financial advising, insurance, retail sales, or professional servicesExperience asking questions and recommending solutions based on customer needsAbility to work 15–35 hours per week, with availability up to 40 hours during peak periodsAvailability to work evenings and weekends during tax seasonWhy work for us:At H&R Block, our purpose is simple: to provide help and inspire confidence in our clients and communities everywhere. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
