Job Summary
We are seeking an LPN/RN to join our team! You will spend your time caring for our aging patients, administering medication, and following care orders. You will also work closely with other nurses and nursing assistants, offering support and guidance, making rounds with doctors as needed, and being a supportive, helpful presence to our patients. The ideal candidate has experience working with an older population, has all the required licensing in the state, and works well independently as well as within a team environment.

Responsibilities 

• Make rounds to check on each patient assigned, assessing current well-being and making notes on issues as needed
• Administer prescribed medications as directed
• Make rounds with physicians as needed, offering personal experience with the patient and taking care notes
• Assisting other nurses or nursing assistants as needed to keep the shift moving and provide excellent care
• Being a positive, supportive presence to our aging patients

Qualifications

• Active, valid nursing license within the state
• Experience in senior resident services preferred
• Experience in staff supervision
• Medication supervision (within the scope of the state regulations)
• Demonstrates effective time management skills 
• Comfortability working independently and within a team and accept constructive criticism 
• The ability to multitask and work well under pressure

Physical Demands 

• This position is classified as HEAVY, requiring exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift/move objects
• Constant standing and walking, frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, turning, and stretching 
• Ability to remain calm under stress 
• Able to carry out essential functions of this job (with or without reasonable accommodations) without posting specific, current risk of substantial harm to health and safety of self and others 

Administrative Duties/Staff Management 

• Assist in answering and forwarding incoming calls
• Greet and assist visitors
