This position offers a flexible remote work environment. Your interactions with clients will primarily occur via telehealth, which includes virtual counseling sessions through secure online platforms. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations during initial client consultations to establish baseline data for treatment.

• Document detailed case histories and treatment progress, adhering to relevant legal and ethical standards in electronic health record systems such as AVATAR.
\n
• Create tailored intervention and recovery plans based on individual assessments, focusing on the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging and supportive individual and group therapy sessions that promote emotional resilience and coping strategies.
\n
• Monitor and evaluate clients' progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting plans as needed to ensure effective outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to support comprehensive client care.
\n
• Provide timely follow-ups with clients in crisis, including communication with hospital staff for clients needing inpatient care.
\n
• Educate and empower clients and their families, equipping them to manage mental health challenges and support recovery efforts.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a varied client population, including adolescents, adults, and families dealing with a range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. Your approach will be client-centric, striving to build strong therapeutic relationships through empathy and understanding, tailored to meet the unique backgrounds and needs of each individual.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW in the state of New York.

• Pass a national counselor examination such as the NCE or NCMHCE.
\n
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and healthcare teams.

• Possess strong interpersonal skills, showcasing an empathetic and supportive demeanor.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior hands-on experience in a mental health counseling role is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and the ability to navigate through them efficiently.

• Knowledge of substance use disorders and therapeutic approaches utilizing evidence-based practices.

• Awareness of the best practices set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth understanding of medications prescribed in conjunction with mental health treatment and their impacts on patient care.

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually, plus additional benefits including a sign-on bonus.
