About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred License: RN License required Certifications: ACLS/BLS required Must-Have Skills/Experience: Knowledge of ventilators, central lines, arterial lines, and chest tube experience preferred Description: 7 PM - 7 AM shift. Minimum staffing is 2 RNs per shift. 28 shifts per week. Staffing shortage due to recent terminations and PRN status of some RNs. Two additional RNs are expecting maternity leave soon. Remaining full-time ICU nurses will need to cover the majority of the shifts. Unit has 4 beds. ICU patient ratios are 1 RN with 2 ICU patients or 1 ICU patient and 1-2 medical patients. If floated to medical floor, the ratio is 4-6 patients. Common diagnoses include sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, COPD, DKA, and post-heart catheterization patients. Dress code includes scrubs in colors such as black, navy, gray, and Caribbean blue. Unacceptable attire includes sweatshirts and fleece. This position is for coverage due to leave.
