Mechanical Technician

Job Title : Mechanical Technician

Location: Mehoopany, PA

Work Model : Onsite

Compensation : $30.00 – $42.80/hr

Type: 6-month contract

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials with splice tape and execute splices on specific unwinders on converter (AQL, CC-DL, CSL, TS, CUFF, BS).

• Prioritize and focus tasks based on skill set, including ordering material, moving carts, removing wrapping, preparing material (cutting, tape, disposing scrap), interfacing with HMI for returning/rejecting material, and organizing material carts.

• Thread up splice and execute splice sequence, and thread web during breakouts.

• Perform cleaning and low complexity maintenance tasks such as cleaning unwinders inside and outside, vacuuming and cleaning splice boxes, drive side, floors, glue tanks, and changing filters, print rolls, unspinner settings, and materials.

• Ensure material clearance and support operational stability by executing 5S tasks such as vacuuming line external areas, trash removal, inventorying supplies, and organizing workstations (computers, printrolls, chemical cabinets, toolboxes).

• Maintain safety standards and ensure proper training for production areas.

• Follow shift schedules for a 12-hour, 24/7 operation across 4 teams, with designated break patterns and opportunities for overtime based on production needs.

Requirements

• Full understanding of LOTO (Lockout / Tagout) requirements and working around energized equipment.

• Understanding of production, packaging and conveying systems.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and/ or engineering degree/experience.
