Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum position requiring prior travel experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Mother-Baby, Couplet Care, and Post Partum unit
• Patient population includes post-partum vaginal and cesarean delivery, tubal ligation, circumcision, GYN surgeries, low-risk antepartum, and transition nursery patients
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs
• Floating may be required to NICU, L&D, or the First Hill Campus
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with blood/blood product administration, drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, and wound vac required
• Experience administering heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate required
• Experience with OB-GYN care, post-op care, post vaginal delivery care, and postpartum re-admits required
• Experience with normal newborn care including thermoregulation and glucose management required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive postpartum and newborn care including newborn assessment, thermoregulation, and glucose management
• Deliver discharge teaching to parents and infant identification procedures
• Manage post-epidural pain including opioid administration and IV PCA use
• Provide postpartum care including bladder assessment, Foley catheter insertion, breastfeeding instructions, and episiotomy/incision care
• Support patients with vaginal delivery, cesarean section, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they do not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
