Client is looking for a Software Architect - Consultant
Why is this position open: The Citadel is hiring a Software Architect – Consultant to assist in a project upgrading a proprietary software, the Cadet Accountability System.
Work Location: Role is 100% remote
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience with C#
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL
- 3+ years of experience gathering and documenting project requirements
Preferred Skills
- Experience analyzing existing code and creating modernization plans
- Familiarity with 3rd party data integrations using REST API’s and SQL extracts
Daily Responsibilities:
- Assess technical feasibility: architecture, scalability, and security of the current CAS system.
- Examine operational alignment: support for cadet workflows and Commandant, Academic, and Athletic departments.
- Review interoperability: integration with Banner, Canvas, My Citadel Portal, and health systems.
- Analyze user experience, adoption, and training needs.
- Evaluate economic feasibility: total cost of ownership (TCO) and ROI compared with alternative systems.
- Analyze exiting codebase and provide recommendations, timeline, and roadmap for modernization or replacement.
- Work with cross-functional teams on complex projects
- Present and prepare reports
- Assign appropriate priorities to work activities based on organizational goals and situational pressures
- Effectively plan and communicate work activities and deadlines
