Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients and newborns across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods in a surgical center environment.
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, interpret fetal heart rate monitoring, administer medications per orders, and assist with procedures during labor and delivery.
• Assist physicians and midwives during examinations and OB/GYN procedures; support OR suites and postpartum wards as needed.
• Deliver family-centered care, provide patient and family education, and participate in discharge planning and newborn care instructions.
• Ensure adherence to nursing policies, standards of care, and accurate documentation in the charting system; uphold patient safety and infection control practices.

Requirements

• Current, valid RN license (unrestricted) to practice in the United States or territories.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) from the American Heart Association.
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and AWHONN Advanced EFM certifications required within six months of hire.
• NIHSS within six months of hire; STABLE within one year; ALSO within one year.
• Minimum of 2 years OB nursing experience across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and labor and delivery.
• Education: Completion of an accredited nursing program leading to RN licensure.
• Ability to work effectively in a surgical center OB/GYN setting and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
