Job Summary The CDA Press is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Pressman Apprentice to join our team. This apprenticeship is designed to provide hands‑on training and mentorship to develop the skills needed to operate and maintain printing presses efficiently. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, have strong attention to detail, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Position Duties & Responsibilities Assist in setting up and operating printing presses under supervision. Learn to monitor press operations to ensure quality and consistency. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting tasks as instructed. Assist in adjusting ink, rollers, and paper feed for optimal print quality. Conduct quality control checks throughout the printing process. Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines. Qualifications Interest in learning the printing trade and developing technical skills. Mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical specifications. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work. Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods. Strong teamwork and communication skills are important. Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, crouching, squatting, lifting heavy materials, and climbing stairs. Ability to pass a background check. Work Schedule & Compensation Full‑time night shift position (pressroom operations run seven days a week). Entry‑level starting wage: $19/hour, with scheduled increases every six months during training (up to four years). Opportunities for advancement and skill development within the pressroom.
