Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite

Compensation: Up to $80,000 base salary plus bonus

Position Overview

A well-established construction and project management company is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on role with a primary focus on accounts payable, along with exposure to general ledger reconciliations, month-end close, and other accounting functions.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Both experienced accounting professionals and motivated up-and-comers with a solid accounting foundation are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, reconcile statements, and ensure timely payments.
• Expense Reporting: Review employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Vendor Relations: Maintain vendor relationships, resolve payment discrepancies, and monitor outstanding balances.
• Account Reconciliations: Review general ledger transactions, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate account balances.
• Month-End and Year-End Close: Assist with journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial close documentation.
• Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain organized accounting records and ensure proper documentation and internal controls.
• Additional Projects: Support financial reporting, research, and process improvement initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred; an associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• At least 3 years of corporate accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with Sage or Timberline software is highly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and mathematical aptitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues proactively while managing competing priorities.
• Strong work ethic, integrity, and ability to collaborate across departments.
• Experience in construction, real estate development, or property management is a plus.
