About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medicine/Surgery/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year required, acute care rehab experience preferred License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - EKG exam required for all RNs - EPIC charting experience required Description: This position involves providing specialized care for patients with rehabilitation needs. The patient population includes individuals with CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, and neurological diagnoses. Nurses will monitor vital signs and understand the interpretation of laboratory results. Duties include medication reconciliation, dressing changes, and setting up sterile procedure trays. Phlebotomy and specimen collection are part of daily responsibilities. Nurses will engage in telephone triage and manage pharmacy calls and patient refill requests. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6 during shifts. Floating to other units may be required as needed. The role entails working every third weekend and on holidays as necessary. A zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences is in effect. The candidate must be flexible with scheduling. Compliance with deadlines is mandatory for success in this role.
