Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist (Contract) Location: Richmond, VA Pay: $20.00–$35.00 per hour Job Type: Full-Time, Contract (3–4 Months) Schedule: Approximately 35–40 hours per week Join Our Team We are seeking an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist to support our accounting team on a temporary contract assignment in Richmond, VA . Responsibilities As an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist , you will support the day-to-day accounting operations by maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely processing of transactions. Process Accounts Payable invoices, vendor payments, and payment requests. Manage Accounts Receivable , customer payments, and account balances. Review invoices for accuracy and ensure proper coding and documentation. Reconcile vendor statements and customer accounts. Enter financial information accurately into accounting systems. Assist with account reconciliations and month-end accounting activities. Maintain organized accounting files and financial documentation. Prepare reports using Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and internal departments regarding payment status and account questions. Support the accounting team with administrative duties and special projects as needed. Qualifications Previous experience in Accounts Payable , Accounts Receivable , bookkeeping, or general accounting required. Experience with invoice processing, payment posting, account reconciliation, and financial recordkeeping. QuickBooks experience is highly preferred and may qualify candidates for higher compensation. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office is preferred. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative accounting team. Entry-level candidates with relevant accounting education or internship experience are encouraged to apply.
