New Grad Registered Nurse

Job Summary The Methodist Healthcare Residency Program at Methodist Hospital Stone Oak is a one-year paid program that provides hands‑on experience and formalized learning opportunities. Participants receive advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship, simulation-based skills assessment, mentorship from nurse leaders, and collaboration on an evidence‑based practice project. Current Available Specialties Rehab Responsibilities Assess patient condition during admission and throughout each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in status. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and document all care in the patient medical record promptly and accurately. Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and notify the provider or intervene appropriately if an adverse reaction occurs. Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs, and resolving them proactively. Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow‑up care, translating complex terminology into clear language. Qualifications Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment. Other certifications may be required during employment. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program. Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse Permit in the State of Texas. No prior healthcare experience required. Some travel may be required for training.
