Laboratory Specialist II

Altasciences is dedicated to accelerating the discovery, development, and manufacturing of new drug therapies to benefit patients worldwide. The Laboratory Specialist II is responsible for processing and managing biological samples collected during clinical trials. The position ensures compliance with study protocol, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Work Schedule 6:00am-4:30pm (Sunday - Wednesday) 11:00am-7:30pm (Monday - Friday) What You'll Do Ensure confidentiality of clinical trial participants and sponsors is respected, while maintaining a high level of quality within the department. Report procedural deviations, issues and/or problem resolutions to appropriate supervisory team members. Understand protocol-driven timed study events, which may include but are not limited to, centrifugation, study and clinical diagnostic sample handling/processing, storing samples and acceptable windows (protocol and/or SOP driven) for the timed events. Coordinate with external vendors (i.e. shipment couriers, central lab). Act as a mentor to the Laboratory Specialist I team members. Assist with maintaining equipment used in sample management (i.e. freezers, refrigerators, centrifuges) and document accordingly. Assist in the resolution of data queries. What You'll Need to Succeed High School Diploma or GED required; college degree and related work experience preferred. Minimum of 3-6 years of related experience required. MS Word, Excel and Outlook skills. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and industry specific manuals. Ability to write advanced reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Well-developed interpersonal skills are required. Personal/professional integrity and proven discretion in handling confidential information. Ability to develop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results. Capable of managing multiple conflicting priorities. Must be self-directed, motivated, and have a willingness to take the initiative to identify and anticipate study needs and make recommendations for implementation to management. Detail-oriented, well organized, customer service focused and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
