As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in bringing our projects to life from the very first stages of construction through closeout. You will work closely with project teams, design partners, and our subcontractor community to ensure information flows accurately, materials arrive on time, and the work is executed with precision. Your efforts lay the groundwork for strong project execution, clear communication, and successful outcomes in the field.

PROJECT ENGINEER
Department: Build It Direct Supervisor: Project Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

• Review submittals and shop drawings, coordinate material deliveries, and manage document control (RFIs, change orders, as-builts, etc.) to support schedule and budget requirements.
• Support the Project Manager with project finances by preparing monthly Owner pay applications, processing invoices, estimating change orders, and participating in closeout, budget updates, and job cost reviews.
• Collaborate with the Project Superintendent by interpreting drawings and specifications, assisting with production analysis, and responding to craft and subcontractor inquiries.
• Participate in creating and updating the project schedule.
• Assist bid teams by performing quantity takeoffs, preparing bid packages, and conducting subcontractor/supplier outreach.
• Help organize and run weekly coordination meetings and maintain accurate meeting minutes.
• Assist in writing and executing purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
• Engage in all project safety efforts, including safety meetings, jobsite walks, and weekly audits.
• Maintain quality control documentation and support preparatory meetings, initial inspections, and follow-up inspections.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Four-year degree from an accredited university or college in construction or a related field, or equivalent construction experience.
• Preferred experience with:
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Procore
  • Bluebeam
  • ASTA PowerProject
  • SketchUp
  • AutoCAD

CERTIFICATES & LICENSES

• Montana SWPPP is encouraged
• OSHA 30 training is encouraged
• LEED GA or other LEED certification is encouraged
• Lean training/certification is encouraged
