The salary range for this position is $67,236.14 to $109,298.70 for Schedule A, and $67,236.14 to $103,833.79 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to August 29, 2015, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after August 29, 2015, are considered Schedule B.

REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Example of Duties

Under the general direction of the Court Executive 2B (Finance Division Manager) or Court Executive 1B (Assistant Finance Division Manager), the selected candidate will perform professional administrative and cash management functions for the court held funds and revenues unit and supervise the diverse work activities of a team composed of support personnel within the Finance Division. The responsibilities of this position include the acceptance, processing, internal control and system management of court ordered payments and filings to include but not limited to Bail, Child Support, Fines and Restitution, Civil, General Equity and Family Law Division filings, Special Civil Part filings, and other miscellaneous sanctions and application fees. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: developing appropriate goals and standards; monitoring work productivity; ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures and court rules; mentoring, and coaching staff; assessing training needs; advising management on personnel issues and unresolved staff or team conflicts. Other duties include distributing and prioritizing work; ensuring proper resource allocation; handling personnel actions such as participation in staff recruitments; making recommendations for pre-disciplinary and disciplinary actions; ensuring staff accountability and conducting formal performance evaluations; holding monthly staff meetings; preparing statistical and financial reports, reconciliations, ledgers and analysis; reviewing system reports and resolving discrepancies; preparing productivity progress reports; approving timesheets and leave requests; participating in partnership meetings; the ability to successfully interact with both internal and external customers and working with internal and external financial auditors. Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 21 credit hours in accounting, business administration, economics, public administration statistics, mathematics, data analytics or financial-related courses. Six of these credit hours must be in accounting and three years of paraprofessional and/or professional experience, one year of which shall have included experience in accounting, accounts payable, auditing, purchasing, budgeting, cash management and/or financial analysis.

Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education but do possess the required 21 credit hours in accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, statistics, mathematics, data analytics or financial-related courses, including six (6) accounting credit hours, may substitute paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis. A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, economics, accounting, statistics, mathematics, data analytics or finance may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above OR a CPA designation may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above.

Education Note: Degrees conferred outside of the United States must be evaluated by a recognized evaluation service.

Driver's License: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position. Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
