We are seeking a strong individual contributor who can independently execute accounting functions with consistency and precision. The current bookkeeper is working three days a week but hours could increase to full-time.

Responsibilities include:

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions
• Prepare, issue, and track customer invoices and collections
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts
• Maintain accurate general ledger activity and supporting documentation
• Process payroll, commissions, and employee reimbursements
• Prepare journal entries and support month-end and year-end close processes
• Assist with cash tracking and operational financial reporting
• Maintain organized accounting records and files
• Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding administration
• Perform job costing
• Work closely with leadership to ensure financial accuracy and operational organization

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of full-charge bookkeeping experience
• QuickBooks Online experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Office 365 experience including Excel, Word, Access and Outlook
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to independently identify and resolve discrepancies
• Strong follow-through and ability to manage multiple priorities
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong work ethic
• Be able to obtain Notary Public in the state of Kansas
• Must reside in the Kansas City metro area
