Physical Therapist Sports Medicine

Title: Outpatient Therapist

Job Summary: Provides evaluations and treatment for patients with a variety of orthopedic and sports injury related disorders/conditions, to include patients that are difficult, complex or have disorders within this specialty area. Provides clinical and professional leadership within the department and across rehabilitative services.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Analytical ability necessary to evaluate patient condition, to interpret and analyze data, assess patient progress, and determine appropriate follow-up. APTA board certified clinical specialist in orthopedics or sports medicine preferred. Certification in Manual Therapy preferred. Certified in Athletic Training through the National Athletic Training Association (NATA) preferred. Keeps current in standards of practice in youth orthopedics and sports medicine. Must be able to relate cooperatively and constructively with patients, families and co-workers. Requires the ability to problem solve to adapt standard clinical procedures to the individual client's need, and the ability to interpret, adapt and react calmly under stressful conditions.

Minimum Requirements

4 - 5 years experience in orthopedics or sports medicine with a minimum of 1 of those years with the adolescent and / or teenage population. Bachelor's Degree in physical therapy. Masters or Doctoral degree preferred. CPR: Healthcare Provider State of Florida licensure as a Physical Therapist.
