Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods in a high-acuity, fast-paced maternity unit. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care for mothers and newborns.

Responsibilities:

• Administer prenatal, labor, and delivery nursing interventions based on patient needs and clinical protocols.
• Monitor fetal and maternal status using electronic fetal monitoring and other diagnostic tools.
• Assist with procedures such as vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&Cs, cerclage placements, and hysterectomies.
• Educate patients and families on labor processes, postpartum care, and newborn care.
• Coordinate care with physicians, anesthesiologists, and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document all clinical interventions accurately in the electronic medical record system.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current certification in BLS/ALS and NRP.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience with high-risk case exposure.
• Demonstrated proficiency in fetal monitoring and neonatal stabilization.
• Flexibility to float to related units such as MFMU, MOMB, or NICU.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an outgoing, friendly, and adaptable attitude.
