JOB DESCRIPTION: Shipping and Receiving Reports to: Operations Leader ** ** General Purpose: Shipping and receiving associate keep records, prepares shipments and accept deliveries of goods. The shipping and receiving associate will keep track of and maintain the inventory of goods to be shipped. The associate moves the goods from the warehouse to the shipping dock by using a pallet jack, a dolly, or a forklift. When a shipment arrives, the associate verifies the contents against the original PO to ensure that the contents match the receiving documents. Essential duties and responsibilities include: v Monitors all orders leaving and inbound to determine the priority of each shipment. v Collecting paperwork from incoming loads immediately, opening doors and unloading in a timely fashion. v Informing supervisor of incoming product so that room may be made for the produce. v Inspects all incoming and outgoing freight for quality, visible damage, missing items, or incorrect products. v Compare delivered items against purchase orders (PO), to ensure accuracy. v Recording shipment data such as; weight, changes, and damages v Completing Shipping and Receiving paperwork and returning it to office in a timely fashion. v Label all received goods, and safely transport them to designated warehouse using forklift, jack, or dolly. v Gather, package, and label all outgoing items according to company standards and customer specifications v Ensuring the product is ready for drivers to take according to delivery time. v Maintaining product in coolers by following a stock rotation arrangement. v Monitoring dock entrance door to make sure only those with correct access enter the facility. v General plant maintenance. v Completing a daily inventory of all product in the warehouse v Ability to stand or walk for long periods, and lift heavy objects (typically 35 to 50+ lbs. & work in a cold environment). v High attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and effective communication with carriers/vendors, and internal teams.
