Facilities & Maintenance Diesel Bus Mechanic $32.00 / hour Juneau The Role Keep our fleet of modern tour buses, coaches, vans, and specialty vehicles running flawlessly all summer long. As our Diesel Mechanic, you’ll perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical issues, and ensure every vehicle is safe and ready for Alaska’s demanding roads and long daylight hours. This is a hands‑on, critical role that directly supports our ability to deliver unforgettable guest experiences across Southeast Alaska. Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on diesel buses and support vehicles Diagnose and troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, suspension, HVAC, pneumatic, and electrical systems Conduct DOT inspections and maintain accurate records Repair or replace components including turbochargers, injectors, air compressors, differentials, and wheel seals Perform welding and light fabrication when needed Manage parts inventory and work with vendors for quick‑turnaround orders Assist with pre‑season fleet prep and post‑season winterization Respond to road calls Requirements Current ASE certification in Medium/Heavy Truck or Transit Bus (T‑series preferred) OR OEM‑specific training (Prevost, MCI, Cummins, Detroit, Allison, etc.) Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on diesel mechanic experience (tour/coach bus experience a big plus) Valid Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement (or ability to obtain quickly) Own professional tools preferred(specialty tools provided) Clean driving record and ability to pass pre‑employment drug screen Current CPR/First Aid a plus What We Offer Competitive wage$32+/hr (DOE) + performance bonus Limited company housing or housing stipend Scheduled days off to explore Alaska Free or deeply discounted staff tours (whale watching, rafting, etc.) Work in one of the most beautiful places in America #J-18808-Ljbffr Holland America-Princess (Holland America Dawson City Inn)
