Program Instructor

A program instructor within our organization would be responsible for teaching assigned weekly classes, supervising participants, and following an agreed upon curriculum that meets pre-set goals for assigned classes. Instructors should maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere between all students, parents, and staff members. The pay for the role is negotiable, and the position is part-time. A program instructor reports to the Youth or Adult/Senior Recreation Supervisor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Preparing class curriculum and participant goals prior to start date of program · Adjusting and preparing a weekly lesson plan · Taking attendance of participants · Teaching a variety of youth participants at weekly classes · Plans and coordinates with Recreation Supervisor for supplies, recitals, games, etc. depending on the nature of the program being taught · Attend any meetings as required by Recreation Supervisors or Parks and Recreation Director · Other relevant duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience Required

· Background in subject matter being taught · Teaching experience is preferred · First Aid/CPR certification is preferred

· Friendly and welcoming personality · Ability to manage a classroom of students · Ability to adapt to all ages, levels, and abilities · Knowledge of program topic/skill · Great work ethic including integrity, self-motivation, and passion for working with others · Organizational and time-management skills
