PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day production at the Madison, AL Truss Plant. This role coaches, motivates, and supports the production crew, applying a team approach and maintaining open communication with staff to ensure production objectives are met safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Wilson Lumber's mission and values.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and day-to-day operations of the day shift production team at the Madison, AL Truss Plant. This position provides direct leadership and oversight for 2 Assistant Supervisors, up to 6 Lead Operators, and as many as 44 Production Employees based on business needs.

Location: Madison, AL

Work Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (four 10-hour days)

Key Responsibilities

• Coach the production team to produce and prioritize jobs and, when necessary, reorganize to meet deadlines and updates.
• Organize workflow according to workload to ensure the completion of the production schedule.
• Monitor the quality and accuracy of all orders.
• Ensure the completion of all duties with minimum waste and abuse of equipment.
• Take all necessary action to manage production cost and improve profit.
• Inform the Truss Plant Manager of equipment and production concerns.

Safety & Compliance

• Comply with all OSHA safety requirements.
• Ensure employee safety training is conducted as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.

Team Leadership & Development

• Communicate effectively with the management staff and the production team, informing and updating them regularly to ensure that production objectives are met.
• Provide a positive, motivating example for employees and follow Wilson Lumber's core values.
• Conduct training or authorize training of production employees.
• Oversee all staff scheduling and time-off requests.
• Conduct formal performance reviews per company policy.
• Initiate disciplinary action according to company policy when needed, and dismiss employees per policy when all corrective attempts have failed.

Other Responsibilities

• Perform the duties of the Truss Plant Manager in the Truss Plant Manager's absence.
• Follow any other job-related instructions and perform other job-related duties as requested by management.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management and/or production management in the construction industry or a construction-related industry.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

Able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
