Lead Aircraft Quality InspectorAirbus Helicopters in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a Lead Aircraft Quality Inspector to provide source leadership, guidance and accountability to Airbus Core Values. This position reports activities and milestone achievements to Quality Management and provides assistance, training and technical guidance to quality inspectors. This position requires aptitude and ability to inspect articles to determine their airworthiness status after completion of alterations, preventative maintenance, modification, or repair/rework to design specifications.Your working environment:A suburb just outside the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area is home to Airbus Helicopters U.S. regional headquarters, where we have more than 1,000 employees. Check out one of the seven professional sports teams that also call Dallas home - you may even see a special, custom Airbus helicopter dedicated to the Dallas Cowboys flying during home games.Your Challenges:Inspection: 30%Leadership: 25%Quality Department Support/Continuous Improvement: 25%Documentation: 20%Your Boarding Pass (Required):Education:Associates Degree in Aerospace/Aviation related field or equivalent experiencePreferred:Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace/Aviation Management and/or other Aerospace related fieldExperience:10 years combined as a quality inspector and certificated aviation maintenance technician (AMT) on aircraft components and/or systems with at least 6 years of quality inspection at Airbus HelicoptersPreferred:Minimum 8 years at Airbus Helicopters as a quality inspectorLicensure/Certifications:Current/Valid FAA Airframe & Power plant LicensePreferred:FAA Inspection Authorization (IA)FCC 2nd Class LicenseNon Destructive Inspection (NDI) certificateDesignated Manufacturing Inspection Representative (DMIR)Physical Requirements:Onsite or remote: 100% OnsiteVision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Must have correctable near and far vision if applicable.Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms. DailySpeaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. DailyEquipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools.Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. DailyLifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. DailyPushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. DailySitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. Several times a weekSquatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. DailyStanding: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
