Position Overview We are seeking a reliable (English/Spanish) Legal Assistant with a background in family-based immigration law to join us as an independent contractor basis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Support the paralegals with preparing and submitting immigration applications by collecting information and documents from clients, completing application forms, reviewing documents, and organizing application packages Communicate with clients in person and by phone to gather documents and provide case updates Explain timelines and manage client expectations Perform additional administrative tasks, as needed Qualifications Bilingual Required: English and Spanish Minimum 1 year of family-based immigration experience High School Diploma or equivalent Professional, reliable, and capable of working independently Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook Knowledge of the USCIS website is a plus Familiarity with immigration form software (e.g., Mycase, or similar) is a plus Contract Details Type of Contract: Independent Contractor (1099) Duration: Approximately 3-5 months, with potential to extend Working Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00PM Location: Hollywood, FL Compensation: $24.00 per hour as a 1099 Independent Contractor Join our team and make a difference in the lives of immigrants and their families while advancing your career in immigration law.
