Global Account Director, Consumer

Job Summary The Global Account Director, Consumer Vertical is a senior position that develops and maintains business for significant global Consumer accounts. The role focuses on selling and improving logistics solutions—road, freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, and other value‑added services—to establish long‑term strategic relationships beyond a single point solution. Location and Division Location: USA – Itasca, N Arlington Heights Rd Division: Air & Sea Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive account plan aimed at maintaining existing business and identifying top opportunities. Manage named global Consumer accounts in accordance with agreed financial and performance targets based on DSV processes. Develop solutions for named global customers, leveraging DSV vertical structure and competencies into innovative developments. Work closely with operations to deliver a high level of service to customers. Identify and develop relationships with key decision makers at all levels within an account. Understand the customer’s buying process, business (strategically, operationally, & financially), and needs. Collaborate across all divisions within DSV to create custom solutions that deliver value to customers. Maintain an open dialogue with the account executive sponsor and keep the sponsor engaged in the account. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in logistics and supply chain management. Minimum 5 years of recent global account management experience. Minimum 8 years of experience in the logistics and supply chain industry. Subject‑matter expert level knowledge of the industry. Proven track record of sales success within the industry. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Advanced mathematical skills for project development. Advanced level of business acumen. Strong creative problem‑solving and analytical skills. Self‑motivated team player. Must be able to travel frequently. Actual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
