We are looking for a Research Scientist to join a dynamic team in College Park, MD . Research Scientist – Level 1 The Level 1 Research Scientist evaluates and applies advanced scientific principles to support research and innovation initiatives. This role requires maintaining a strong understanding of emerging technologies, scientific theories, and industry trends to contribute to forward‑looking research and potential product development. Key Responsibilities Conduct laboratory‑based research and experimentation to support scientific studies and innovation efforts. Execute scientific studies and analyze results to inform research direction and technical decisions. Apply scientific principles and concepts to explore potential inventions, technologies, and products—often years in advance of formal product development. Stay current with advancements in scientific literature, industry developments, academic research, and technical conferences. Provide expert insight on the application of scientific theories and methodologies. Contribute to the development of intellectual property, including research findings and potential innovations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or Physics from an accredited institution. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a related field. A Master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of experience. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be substituted (total of 6 years required). Strong understanding of scientific research methods and analytical techniques. Ability to stay current with emerging technologies and scientific advancements. Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00. Pay ranges are a general guideline and are not intended as a guaranteed and/or implied final compensation or salary for this job opening. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
