For more information visit amkor.com.Position SummaryThe Manufacturing Systems Engineer (MES / Factory Automation) supports the implementation and operation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), CIM, automation, and quality systems for Amkor Technology’s advanced Arizona Technology Assembly (ATA) greenfield facility. This role is primarily focused on system configuration, integration, and deployment rather than software development. The engineer will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and manufacturing stakeholders to build and scale highly automated, reliable factory systems from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a greenfield semiconductor facility and play a key role in shaping next-generation manufacturing systems.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesConfigure, test, and support MES and related manufacturing systemsIntegrate MES with CIM/EAP, automation systems (AMHS/OHT), quality systems, and enterprise platforms (ERP)Manage system interfaces and data flows (lot tracking, WIP, recipes, dispatching logic)Maintain manufacturing master data (process flows, equipment, materials, recipes)Support system testing activities (SIT, UAT, commissioning, go-live, stabilization)Troubleshoot system issues impacting manufacturing operations and data integrityCollaborate with vendors (e.g., AMAT) and cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, IT, automation)Participate in system design reviews and requirement definitionDocument system functionality, enhancements, and proceduresMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline3–6 years of experience in manufacturing IT, factory automation, or semiconductor manufacturing systemsHands-on experience with MES, CIM/EAP/RMS, automation, logistics, or quality systems (SPC, FDC)Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and shop floor operationsExperience supporting production manufacturing systemsStrong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teamsPreferred RequirementsExperience with commercial manufacturing software platforms (Applied Materials preferred)Experience supporting MES or automation systems in a semiconductor fab, assembly, or test siteExposure to system integration or factory system rollout projectsBasic understanding of equipment interfaces or material handling systemsFamiliarity with analytics or AI/ML use cases in manufacturingAdditional InformationThis role is focused on project implementation and factory ramp-up, not steady-state supportLimited coding required; emphasis is on configuration, integration, and troubleshootingOpportunity for a mix of desk-based and factory floor interaction depending on assignmentAbility to travel internationally (e.g., Korea) for training as neededWhy AmkorBe part of a greenfield semiconductor facility and help build systems from the ground upWork with advanced manufacturing technologies in a high-growth environmentGain hands-on experience with cutting-edge MES and automation systemsCollaborate with global teams and industry-leading partnersLocationThis position will be based at the temporary Phoenix, AZ site and the Peoria site during the construction phase, and will transition to the Peoria site once factory operations begin.Amkor is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
