*Deputy District Attorney*11th Judicial District Attorney's Office *Canon City, Colorado (Fremont County)* The *11th Judicial District Attorney's Office* is seeking a dedicated and motivated attorney to join our prosecution team in beautiful south-central Colorado. Our district serves the communities of *Fremont, Chaffee, Park, and Custer Counties*, offering a unique opportunity to gain meaningful courtroom experience while making a direct impact on public safety and the pursuit of justice. *Position Overview* This position is based in our *Canon City office* and primarily focuses on prosecuting cases in County Court. The successful candidate will handle a diverse caseload and gain substantial courtroom experience through hearings, motions, trials, and other judicial proceedings. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys seeking hands-on litigation experience in a supportive environment where professional growth and public service are highly valued. *Responsibilities** Review, prepare, and prosecute criminal cases in County Court.
* Conduct hearings, motions, plea negotiations, and trials.
* Draft legal pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
* Work closely with law enforcement agencies, victims, witnesses, and court personnel.
* Manage a caseload efficiently while maintaining high professional and ethical standards.
* Perform legal research and provide sound legal analysis. *Qualifications** Licensed to practice law in Colorado or eligible for admission.
* Strong legal research, writing, and courtroom advocacy skills.
* Excellent organizational, communication, and time management abilities.
* Ability to effectively manage multiple cases and deadlines.
* Experience using case management software and legal technology.
* Previous prosecution or criminal law experience is preferred but not required. Recent Law School Graduates Encouraged to Apply Law school graduates authorized to practice under the *Colorado Student Practice Act* are encouraged to apply. *Compensation**Annual Salary:* $88,000 - $92,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
