Veterinary Technician Supervisor

VCA South Hadley Animal Hospital is hiring a full time Experienced Certified Veterinary Technician Supervisor / (Veterinary Assistants with skill set and experience qualifications welcome to apply) to join our team

We are a 2-doctor full service veterinary hospital offering primary care, illness care, surgery and dentistry located in South Hadley, MA. We are open 6 days a week to support your pet's needs.

Compensation : $27.00 - $32.00 / hr based on experience and skill set.

Schedule : Full time, variable days, weekend rotation required.

About the Role

As Veterinary Technician Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

• Directing workflow on the floor
• Cultivate an engaging work environment and maintain our strong hospital culture
• Work cohesively with hospital management and supervisory teams to aid in the progression of the hospital
• Help with the interview process for potential new hires and onboard all new associates
• Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills
• Conduct staff meetings
• Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience
• Mentoring technicians within the department
• Resolve conflicts in a professional and humble manner
• Refining and implementing protocols
• Ensure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff.

Having mastered the entire range of vet tech skills yourself, you are a role model for the team. You will work alongside our Veterinarians, Hospital Manager, and Assistant Manager to provide mentorship, ensure the hospital runs efficiently and fosters a winning environment.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of clinical experience
• Team leadership experience
• Passion for Veterinary Medicine
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
