The University of New Mexico is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious HVAC Tech 2 to join our Facility Services team. In this essential role, you'll help maintain and optimize the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems that keep our campus comfortable and operational year-round.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform troubleshooting and repair of building distribution systems including low-pressure steam, heat exchangers, hot and cold deck systems, air handlers, and pneumatic/digital controls.
• Conduct HVAC system inspections and perform manufacturer-recommended preventive maintenance.
• Replace major components in coordination with central energy management and control system operators.
• Lead seasonal overhauls and guide repair teams during system transitions between heating and cooling.
• Monitor and adjust system setpoints and outputs using remote computer links and programmable logic controls.
• Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Promote continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Additionally, this position is subject to overtime and on-call assignments, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support campus operations.
