A newly formed systematic quantitative equity hedge fund is hiring its first Chief Operating Officer, who will also serve as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. The firm's investment team is in Israel; its management, operations and business functions will be in Miami, Florida. The firm runs a systematic, long-only equity strategy with a high-turnover, low-leverage profile, and is launching onshore and offshore funds in a master-feeder structure. This hire will build and run the firm's operating platform, working directly with the CEO and Chairman, who are leading the capital raise and organizing the firm's senior leadership. The role The ideal candidate has built a hedge fund platform before. They know how the pieces fit, the order they must happen in, and which providers perform under pressure. As the operational counterpart to the CEO and Chairman, the COO/CFO/CCO makes the firm investable: passing institutional operational due diligence and running cleanly from day one.

Key responsibilities

Coordinate fund counsel on offering documents, subscription documents, side letters and entity formation. Coordinate the transfer of existing assets and performance history into the fund. Coordinate onboarding between the operating entity and the administrator, prime brokers, custodian, auditor, legal counsel, technology and compliance providers, and hold each to defined service levels. Manage the counterparty structure, including multi-prime and custody arrangements that protect investor assets under market stress. Oversee trade support, reconciliation, cash management and settlement for a high-turnover, global equity book. Implement the firm's foreign exchange (FX) trading capability, including FX counterparties, execution and hedging of the global portfolio's currency exposure, and the related operational workflows. Oversee risk controls, technology and cybersecurity, working with outsourced providers. Build the operations team as assets grow. Direct the outsourced fund accounting and administration function, including NAV, fees and investor allocations. Own the management company's budget, cash flow, expenses and financial reporting. Manage the annual audit and tax reporting across US, Cayman and Israeli entities. Serve as Chief Compliance Officer, overseeing outsourced compliance providers on SEC and Cayman registrations, filings and the firm's compliance program. Support the CEO and Chairman on the capital raise and road show, owning all operational and due diligence materials. Lead operational due diligence with institutional allocators, consultants and platforms. Build investor reporting and the onboarding process, including AML and KYC.

Candidate profile Required

• Has built a hedge fund or investment platform from formation through launch readiness, including service providers, documents and due diligence.
• 12+ years in senior hedge fund roles spanning operations, trading or compliance.
• Firsthand experience managing administrators, prime brokers, auditors, counsel and compliance consultants.
• Has led a firm through institutional operational due diligence.
• Working knowledge of master-feeder structures, Cayman funds, and SEC registration and reporting.
• Able to direct outsourced CFO and compliance functions.
• Credible and polished with institutional investors and allocators.
• Calm, organized and decisive with many moving parts and firm deadlines. Preferred
• Experience at a systematic or quantitative manager, especially with high-turnover equity strategies.
• Senior buy-side trading experience, ideally as head of trading, with deep knowledge of execution quality, transaction costs, algorithmic trading and market impact in a high-turnover portfolio.
• Experience managing brokers, execution venues, commission budgets, securities lending, and OMS/EMS and trade controls for a high-volume systematic book.
• Background at a multi-manager platform or a top-tier quant firm.
• Experience with multi-prime setups and counterparty risk management.
